About Escentric Molecules

Escentric Molecules owes its existence to an aroma-molecule, Iso E Super, that does not exist in nature. It remained unknown outside the world of perfumery until the launch of Escentric Molecules, though its elusive presence hovers at relatively low concentrations in the background of many fragrances for both men and women. Among perfumers, it is prized for its velvety, cocooning effect.

    Molecule 01 + Iris consists of Iso E Super + Iris. Iso E Super is an abstract synthetic molecule characterized as a cedarwood note with a warm, velvety cocooning sensation. Iris is a natural extracted from the root of several varieties of iris. 

    Perfumer Geza Schoen says, “It’s not easy to describe iris’ smell as such, but if you smell a fragrance without it, and then with it, you understand immediately what it does. It adds a creamy powderiness. It brings a physical dimension to a fragrance." 

    Every Escentric fragrance has an iris note somewhere within it. The iris pallida absolue used in Molecule + 01 Iris is one of the most expensive ingredients in perfumery. You can find iris extracts for way less than this one in particular, but they do not have the great and subtle beauty of this absolue.
