When they first started back in 2010, Sun Bum set out to create healthy and effective sunscreen products that they actually wanted to put on themselves and their families. Since then, there were (and still are) two choices for sunscreens to choose from: “Non-Mineral” and “Mineral” active sunscreens. As technology and aesthetics of sunscreens have improved over the years, so have their formulas for both Mineral and Non-Mineral. All of Sun Bum's sunscreen products throughout the U.S. are Hawaii Act 104 Reef Compliant - meaning their sunscreens are both Oxybenzone free and Octinoxate free since these are the two ingredients commonly found in sunscreens that are known to negatively impact coral reefs.
