Back in 1984, Allan Palmer was having a hard time shaving. As a trial attorney, he was involved in lengthy cases in which he had to shave every day. With very sensitive skin, using commercial products to shave daily caused him severe razor irritation.

At home, Allan stirred natural ingredients together including Vitamin E and other compounds, and developed a product that put an end to his shaving irritation and discomfort. For fun, he decided to share his new cream with friends and colleagues, mixing it up in a large vat in his basement and pouring it into jar after jar. His friends ended up really liking it and wanted more. After one suggested he market it, Allan teamed up with a chemist to perfect his formula. That was the beginning of About-Face Shaving Cream and later, the About-Time Anti-Aging Moisturizer—both from Allan Palmer Laboratories which has been in business for now over 25 years.
