Statement of privacy policy at BigelowChemists.com
Bigelow will treat your rights to privacy with the same respect our CEO would like his personal privacy to be given. As such: a) Bigelow will not collect any personally identifiable information about you unless you provide it to us voluntarily. b) Bigelow does not sell personally identifiable information about Members to any third party. c) Bigelow does not store any personally identifiable information about users who are not registered members.
General
Bigelow respects the individual rights to privacy of every user of our Services. Bigelow wants you to fully understand what information we gather about you, how that information is collected, how that information is used and how you can control the collection and/or use of information about you. So, please read this Policy carefully.
Personally Identifiable Information
At Bigelow, "personally identifiable information" means your first and last name, your street address combined with city and state or ZIP code, your email address and your phone number. We believe this information to be personally identifiable because it can lead to knowing specifically who you are and how to contact you as that individual. Except as stated in this Privacy Policy, or unless otherwise stated at the time your
personally identifiable information is gathered, Bigelow will not provide
personally-identifiable information about you to third
parties.
Bigelow will ask you for personally identifiable information such as your name and email address when you register as a member of Bigelow. The purpose of asking for this information is to be able to communicate with you, for example but not limited to: recognizing you if you choose to make changes to your Member Web Site or sending you information about system enhancements. We also ask for your mailing address to complete your account information once you have created a Member Web Site or earned a commission. This allows us to set up an account for you so that you can be paid when a commission is earned. Bigelow may also collect email, letters or other correspondence and the information contained therein that you send us. Once submitted, these communications become the property of Bigelow and will not be returned.
When you do provide us with personally-identifiable information, Bigelow may:
a) store and process that information to
personalize your experience with Bigelow Services, such as welcoming you when you return to Bigelow.com or;
b) use that information to contact you for marketing and promotion purposes, such as notifying you of commissions earned from your Member Web Site. If you do not desire this information, you may opt out of receiving any communication from our partners or us at the time we request information.
c) share personally-identifiable information with Bigelow partners when it is necessary to provide Services or contractually required by the partner, for example if you instruct Bigelow to directly deposit commissions earned into your personal banking account;
d) disclose that information to third parties when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be causing injury to or interference with (either intentionally or unintentionally) Bigelow's rights or property, our partner's rights or property, other Users of Member Web Sites (whether hosted at BigelowChemists.com or at by Bigelow Home Page Provider), or anyone else that could be harmed by such activities; and
e) disclose that information to third parties when we believe in good faith that we are
legally required to do so.
Cookies
Cookies are small data
files commonly used on the Internet to help identify repeat visitors to
web sites. Bigelow uses cookies to identify unique visitors to our web
site. These cookies are used to collect non-personally identifiable
information about the visitor- IP address, host name, URL of the current
page, browser type, URL of the page from which the visitor came to
Bigelow, etc. or to maintain the user preferences for a
session.
Non-Personally Identifiable Information
At Bigelow, "non-personally identifiable" information
means data collected about an individual that alone cannot lead to
personal identification. This information includes IP address, host name,
URL of the current page, browser type, URL of the page from which the
visitor came to Bigelow, etc. Bigelow may collect information about you
that is not personally identifiable. Bigelow may share this information
with advertisers, partners and other third parties but Bigelow will not
share this information in such a manner that you would be personally
identified. For example, Bigelow may inform a prospective Merchant Partner
that the Users of Bigelow Services are x percent female and y percent
male. Bigelow will not inform anyone that A. Jones is male or female.
Non-personally identifiable information is used by Bigelow for such
activities as customizing Bigelow Content and advertising in order to
deliver a more relevant experience for our members and
users. Reviewing & Modifying Your Personal
Information
Members logged into Bigelow.com can review
and/or edit personal information from the "Account Info" section of the
site. Members may not change or remove their first and last names or the
member ID selected at the time of registration. You are able to change
your email address at Account Info. Mailing addresses and ZIP codes may be
changed but not deleted once provided without deleting your account
completely. Credit Card
Transactions
Credit card transactions are handled by
a third-party financial institution, which receives the credit card number
and other personal identifying information only to verify the credit card
numbers and process transactions. When you place an order through a
Bigelow, Bigelow protects your credit card number and personal information
by encrypting it. Encryption scrambles your credit card number and
personal information. It stays scrambled while traveling over the Net and
remains scrambled even while stored on Bigelow's machines. Bigelow uses
secure server software (SSL) for secure commerce transactions.
If our privacy policy changes in the future, we will let you know by posting the policy changes on our Web site or by communicating directly with you. We will notify you of any such change before we use your information in a manner not previously disclosed in our privacy policy. You will have the opportunity at that time to opt out of any new use of your information.
