In 1948 the prior of the Carthusian Monastery on the breathtaking Italian island of Capri, discovered a volume of historic perfume formulas dating back to a time when the monks living there began to discover the exquisite aromatics of the herbs and blossoms on the island. With the Pope's consent, the formulas were revived by a local chemist and developed into a unique range of fragrances called Carthusia. Today, these legendary and exclusive fragrances are crafted in limited production and made with the same care as decades ago.
